Geraldine E. Briggs

Briggs, Geraldine (Geri) Hackworth, age 70 of Maryville passed away Friday, May 5, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She volunteered with the Blount Memorial Hospice and was very active in the Shannondale Community. She was a graduate of Maryville High School Class of 1954. Preceded in death by: Parents, C.E. & Edith Hackworth of Maryville. Survivors include: Daughters, Denise Chaney of Fredricksburg, VA and Elizabeth Mudge of Gaithersburg, MD; Former husband and special friend, Dr. Edward C. Briggs formerly of Maryville; Grandchildren, Adam Chaney, Ashley Mudge, and Shannon McKelvey; many cousins including special cousin and friend Judy Wilhite. Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 7, 2006, in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Chaplain Dixie Petrey officiating.
