George W. Shope, Jr.

George W. Shope, age 93 of Florence, Kentucky, formerly of Maryville, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at Villaspring Health Care Center in Erlanger, Kentucky. He was a member of Rockford Baptist Church and retired from Caterpillar in Mentor, Ohio. Mr. Shope was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Mae Fagg Shope; his second wife, Nola Harveston Malone Shope; parents, George W. and Ardelia Shope; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Stanley & Joan Shope of Florence, Kentucky; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Jack Pearn of Hebron, Kentucky, Harriet & L.A. Headrick of Townsend; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Dale & Wanda Malone of Maryville; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Bobbie & Bill Evans of Maryville, Jane & Fred Atchley of Rockford; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; very special friend, Michael Harrell of Rockford. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Russ Maples officiating. Interment will follow at Clark's Grove Cemetery.
