Gayle (Poole) Hallmark, age 84, died peacefully on September 30, 2024, in Maryville, Tennessee. Gayle was a beacon of love and warmth, as evidenced by her strong friendships. She was deeply loved by many, and this love continues to surround her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy John Hallmark. Her survivors include her three daughters, Jennifer (John) Wing, Julie (Joseph) Beadle, and Jacquelyn (Patrick) Owens, and seven grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Couzens, Claire (Troy) Swift, Bill William Beadle, Joshua Owens, Annie Beadle and Colin Owens. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ilda (Forcella) Poole, and her brother, Joseph Poole. Gayle's journey began in Butte, Montana, where she was born and raised. She graduated from Girls Central High School in Butte, Montana, and furthered her education at Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington. It was here that she met her future husband, Billy John Hallmark. Their marriage was a testament to their love and commitment. Gayle continued working as a nurse while raising a family between frequent moves due to her husband’s military career. With every move, she immersed herself in the community and developed everlasting relationships that remain today. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Gayle at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Alcoa, Tennessee at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 14, 2024. A reception will follow Mass at the Shannondale Community Center in Maryville, Tennessee from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, where she will be buried with her husband. It was Gayle’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to Second Harvest Food Bank of Maryville, Tennessee, 136 Harvest Lane, Maryville, Tennessee 37801 (https://secondharvestetn.org/).
