Francis Austel Davis

April 26, 1917 — May 3, 2007

Davis, Francis Austel age 90, of Alcoa, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a founding member of the Maryville Church of Christ and a Veteran of World War II. Austel retired from the Aluminum Company of America after 44 years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He was preceded in death by: parents, Robert Bynum and Elizabeth Davis; Sister, Beatrice Bickley and husband W.R. Bickley; Mr. Davis is survived by: Loving wife of 57 years, Augusta (Blackie) Davis; Son, Kenneth Bynum Davis and wife Libby; Granddaughters, Katherine Amanda Davis and Cassandra Ann Davis; Brothers, Robert and Jean, Grant, Nash and Shirley; Sister, Roxie Brazzell and Landon; Nieces and Nephews, Will & Linda, Mary Jane, Joe & Dena, Van Allen, Dale, Tony, Phil; several great nieces and nephews; Special sister-in-law, Bette Rueter. Much appreciation to the Blount Memorial Hospital Nursing Staff on 5N and 2N, Dr. Scott Gardner, Dr. John Cowan and Palliative Care Team and Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his name may be sent to the Maryville Church of Christ, P.O. Box 5293, Maryville, TN 37802 and New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37801. Family and friends will assemble for a graveside service and interment will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Steven Musick officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:45 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2007, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
