Obituary

Faye Janelle Schauerman died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Maryville, Tennessee on August 11, 2026. Faye was 70 years old.

Faye was born in Laurel, Mississippi on December 15, 1955. She was the youngest of two daughters born to James Langley and Doris Sumrall Langley. Faye’s sister, Wanda Langley Harrison, resides in Mississippi.

In 1975, Faye moved to Lumberton, Texas and began working for N.L. Schaeffer in Beaumont, Texas. After working for 10 years, Schaeffer decided to close its Beaumont office resulting in Faye’s decision to return to school to complete her college education. In 1988, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lamar University in Beaumont. Faye then began her teaching career with the Beaumont Independent School District. She enjoyed teaching and taught for 10 years. When her son, Scott, suffered a traumatic brain injury in 1997, she left her teaching position to become his primary care giver. Faye, along with her husband, Gary, cared for Scott until his death in 2015.

Faye was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Beaumont, Texas. She served as a Stephen Minister and used her beautiful voice in the choir for many years. After moving to Maryville, Tennessee, she and Gary joined Praise Lutheran Church where she became active in choir and bible studies.

Faye never met a stranger. Her infectious laughter and loving spirit brightened the lives of all who met her. She always introduced herself to people she did not know. As a result, everywhere she went she would generally see someone she knew, even when traveling hundreds of miles from home.

Faye met her husband, Gary Schauerman in 1976 and they were married on November 11, 1978. In addition to their son, Scott, they have a beautiful daughter named Ashley. She and her husband, Adam, have four children: Brayden, Aubrey, Owen and Molly. Faye’s daughter and grandchildren were a joy and a special blessing for her. She spent time with them (and spoiled them a little) whenever she could.

Faye’s funeral will be held this Friday, August 21, 2026 at Praise Lutheran Church, 315 Southdowne Drive, Maryville, Tennessee. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM and the funeral service will start at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Faye’s memory to Praise Lutheran Church, 315 Southdowne Drive, Maryville, TN 37801.
