Evelyn Juanita Nichols

Evelyn McGill Nichols, age 81 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the family home.  Evelyn was a graduate of Porter High School and a member of the 1959 State Champion basketball team.  She retired from Kroger’s after serving there for many years.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  Preceded in death by her parents, David and Wilma McGill; brothers, David Jr., Andy, and Harvey Mcgill; sister, Barbara Hitch.  Survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert Nichols; daughter, Debra Nichols; son and partner, Terry Nichols and Misty Guge; grandson, Corey Nichols; great granddaughter, Evelyn Nichols; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Gene Phelps, Bess and Bob Brown, Alice Cowan, and Diane and Mack Hitch; brother, Ernest McGill; sisters-in-law, Anna Ruth McGill and Sue McGill; many nieces and nephews also.  Friends may call at their convenience after 2:00pm on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service.  Family and friends will assemble at 2:00pm on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Clarks Grove Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev.
