Evelyn Hitch Bledsoe

Evelyn Hitch Bledsoe of Maryville passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer at the family home. She was born August 31, 1931 in Vonore, TN. Evelyn was a lifelong educator teaching Medical Laboratory Technicians for Knoxville City Schools, and later, Roane State Community College. She was a longtime member of the Pilot Club of Knoxville and an avid outdoorsman with a passion for photography, wildflowers, hunting, and amateur archaeology. She was a true animal lover, a wonderful friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by: Parents, James & Hazel Hitch; Sister, Mary Alice Kirkland. Survivors include: Husband of 60 years, William Osborne Bledsoe; Sons & Daughters-in-law, William Eric & Jennifer Bledsoe of Maryville and James Andrew & Debbie Bledsoe of Knoxville; Daughter & Son-in-law, Amy & Eric Arnold of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Andrea & husband, Michael McMahan, Matthew Bledsoe, Gabi Bledsoe; Great-Grandchildren, Sebastian “Mikey�? McMahan, Lexi Bledsoe, Sophie McMahan, and Ashley McMahan; Sister & Brother-in-law, Linda & Alan Shaw of La Mesa, CA; and a host of family and friends. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, September 13, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel with a time for sharing memories at 8:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
