Karen Thompson

Karen Joy (Stinnett) Thompson, 65, went to sleep at her favorite place in the world, the Tropical Manor in Daytona Beach, on August 11, and woke up in heaven the next morning. Karen grew up in the Nazarene Church, attending both Maryville First and Emmanuel Nazarene, where she served as the church pianist for several years. She was a 1976 graduate of Everett High. She was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Joy Stinnett, and by grandchildren William & Rylan Reed. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Kenny; son Richard (Mandy) and daughter Betsy; grandchildren Mylah and Maddi; sister Carla (Jeff); brother Gary (Rhonda); many cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friends Mitzi Brown & Beckie Marcum. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, at Smith Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 7:00.
