Edith Louise Walker

Edith Louise Walker age 96 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Edith was born in Townsend, TN on February 2, 1929 to the late Dewey & Zella Webb Carnes. She graduated from Townsend High School and Knoxville Business College. Edith started her career in banking at Bank of Maryville and later to First Tennessee Bank, serving as an officer for many departments in the bank. After retiring from the bank, she went on to work for Haven House in the business office. Edith started her music ministry at the age of 15, playing the organ at Bethel Baptist Church, continuing her ministry along with her husband Edward of 68 years, at East Maryville, Forest Hill, Alice Bell, Cades Cove Memorial and Tuckaleechee United Methodist Churches. Preceded in death by: daughter, Rozella Davis; granddaughter, Stephanie Riden; sister, Wanda Coatney; along with many brothers & sisters-in-law. Survivors include: husband, Edward Walker; daughter & son-in-law, Melanie & Scott Bowers; grandsons, Drew & Estella Bowers and Max & Danielle Bowers; great-grandchildren, Sam Riden, Gracie Riden, Hanlee Bowers, Cameron Bowers, Levi Bowers. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, August 25, 2025 at Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chris Pass officiating.
