Dwight Thomas Buchanan

Buchanan, Dwight (Thomas D) finished the battle and went home April 27, 2006 at the Alvin York VA Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born January 6, 1915. He was a World War II Veteran from US Army and employed by The Great Smokey Mountains National Park. He was preceded in death by: Wife of 64 years, Cordia Estella Effler Buchanan; Parents, Goldman Jackson and Emmaline Ellen (Jones) Buchanan; Sons, Anthony Dale and Thomas Rex; Daughter, Brenda Faye Knight Buchanan; Brothers, Hershel, Fred, Clyde, and Ruben; Sisters, Maude Moore, Iva Lee Sartin, and Grace Woodby. Survived by: Daughters and Sons-in-law, Daisy & Larry Wilburn and Jane & Mike Jenkins of Maryville, Helen & Jerry Willard of Jefferson, GA; Granddaughters, Lori Young Byrd, Angelia Byrd & Arlene Vickery all of Maryville, Missy White and Stacy Davis of Jefferson, GA; Grandsons, Bo (Larry) Wilburn Jr., Michale Jenkins, Billy & Jesse Knight all of Maryville, Jason & Dewayne Willard of Jefferson, GA; Great-Grandsons, Jeremy Young, Tim & Vance Brewer, Ty Wilburn all of Maryville, Brandon, Jeremy, Joshua and Jason Willard Jr, Darrien and Josh Davis, Brandon and Dillion White of Jeffers, Ga; Great-Granddaughters, Alexa and Jenna Wilburn, Bailey and Gracie Byrd, Hannah, Brenda, and Haley Knight, Linsey Jenkins all of Maryville; Candace and McKenzie White, Zeanna Willard of Jefferson, Ga; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Barry Woods, Rev. Danny Buchanan, Rev. Ronnie Buchanan, and Rev. Ronnie Inman officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery for the Interment.
