Dorothy Jane McDonald Duncan, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at home with her family by her bedside. She was a loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. Also, a lifelong dedicated member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was retired from White Stores/Food City after 38 years of service.

She was preceded in death in 2003, by her devoted husband of 46 years, Charley William Duncan. Parents: Robert Finley and Ida (Gregory) McDonald, Brothers (spouses): Charlie (Grace) Grindstaff; Ben (Minnie) Grindstaff; Horace (Ruth) McDonald; Sisters: Nora (Roy) Grindstaff Perkins and Charlotte Faye McDonald Rose.

Survivors include: Daughter, Janice Duncan Ritchey and husband, Harold; Grandchildren (Spouses): Matthew (Katie) Ritchey; Maleia (Nick) O'Neal; Great-Grandchildren: Nolan Matthew and Emma Kate Ritchey. And several special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at their convenience after 11 AM on Monday, April 20, 2026. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 PM at Smith’s Trinity Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM officiated by Pastor Rex Everett and Rev. Bob Hurst. Interment will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11 AM at Old Piney Grove Cemetery.
