We are saddened to announce the passing of Dorothy Helen Patrick Cavender, age 90 on July 2, 2026, of Maryville, Tennessee. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert, for 71 years. A wonderful mother to 4 children, grandmother of 5, and great grandmother of 6 children, Dorothy will be very missed.

She grew up in Bemis, TN where she played basketball during her high school years, then went on to attend business college before marrying and moving to Knoxville, TN. She worked for several years as a pharmacy technician for Henderson Drug Store and Shannondale Pharmacy. She had a great love for golf and was very active in the Blount County Garden Club. She and our father were members of the Maryville Church of Christ and were lucky to have traveled with their church friends.

She is survived by her husband of 71 wonderful years, Robert Cavender, 4 Children, Robert Charles Cavender, Jr. of Powell, TN, Sherrill Lynn Cavender Schencker of Rancho Santa Fe CA, Cynthia Jane Cavender Woods of Columbia, TN and Cathy Elaine Cavender Meeks of Knoxville, 5 grandchildren, Laura, Griffin, Emily, Adam and Abbey, 6 Great Grandchildren, Will, Ellis, Tate, Orrin, Audie and Callen and her Brother Harold Patrick of Jackson, TN.

Preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Louise Patrick of Bemis, TN her sisters, Flossie Albert, Betty Jean Landers, Linda Hanley, Marjorie Robinson and Faye Yarbrough and brothers, Willard Patrick, Bobby Patrick, Charles Patrick and Larry Patrick.
