Donald Ray Stephens departed this life on Saturday, February 25, 2022. He was born on March 25, 1936 to John & Thelma Stephens. He worked for Vulcan Material for 37 years. He loved playing and writing music, spending time with his family, genealogy, and watching the Braves. He is preceded in death by: father, John Stephens; mother, Thelma Stephens; sisters, Gladys Johnson (Orton), Dorothy Reed (Fred), Betty Holliman (Harold), Janice Kiser; brothers, John “Bud” Stephens (Freida), Dallas Stephens (Bonnie); brother-in-law, Jake Queener. He is survived by: wife, Emma Grace Stephens; daughters, Cathy Warner (Wayne), Stephanie Baker (Wayne), Laura Shockley (Brian), Sandy Koons (Steve); son, Tony Stephens (Robin); brother, Vernon Stephens (Marty); sisters, Sandy Carter (Jimmy), Velma Tucker (Kenneth), Martha Queener; brother-in-law, Ronald Kiser; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank everyone at Covenant Hospice for the excellent care he received. A special thanks to Cynthia Floyd. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. Kenny Tucker and Rev. Tom Rayford officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 3:00 PM, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
