D.C.
Brantley
Jul 22, 1945 — Jul 11, 2026
D.C. Brantley, 82, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, from renal failure. A devoted son, husband, father, brother, and man of faith, D.C.’s life was defined by service to his family, his country, and his congregation as a Primitive Baptist Elder.
Born on July 22, 1943, in Maryville, Tennessee, D.C. was the son of the late Doyle and Vina (nee McNeilly) Brantley. His commitment to serving his country took shape during his service in the United States Airforce from 1962 to 1966. He completed 4 years of active duty as a Medic and went on to serve in the Air National Guard until 1968 and in the Air National Guard Reserve from 1977 until 1984 as a Medical Admin Supervisor.
D.C. worked for many years in finance, eventually becoming a Loan Officer and Manager at Classic Credit in Maryville Tennessee. Throughout his career, he took pride in educating the public about fiscal responsibility and credit building, offering credit counseling service to young people and helping clients build their dreams through mortgage and small loans. A man of deep and abiding faith, he answered the call to preach. He was ordained July 2, 2000, and served as an Elder at Brantley’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church and at Gibson Station Primitive Baptist Church for many years.
Above all, D.C. was a family man. He married Carolyn “Carol” McNeil in 1965, and they welcomed their daughter Dana in 1973 and their son Jason in 1976.
D.C. is survived by his loving wife of more than sixty years, Carol, his daughter Dana Brantley-Sieders and son-in-law Patrick Sieders of Mebane, NC; his grandchildren Anastacia and Jason Sieders of Mebane, NC; and his sister Charlotte (nee Brantley) Willocks and brother-in-law Ralph Willocks of Harrison, TN. He also leaves behind a host of extended family, friends, colleagues, and former congregants. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Brantley; his parents, Doyle Brantley and Vina Brantley, and his brother, Jack Brantley.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Friday July 24, 2026, at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow from 7-8 PM with Elder Lawrence Adams officiating. Interment will be at 11 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Brantley’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
