Obituary

Creed Darrell Randolph, age 78, completed his earthly journey with his family by his side and experienced a heavenly healing on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Born on July 24, 1947, in Robbinsville, North Carolina, Creed experienced a bountiful life full of love and was reunited in heaven with his wife of 54 years, Linda Randolph, who passed away in 2020. The love they shared is evident in the family that remains to carry on their legacy of a life centered on God and family: three sons, Kevin (Terri) Randolph of Viola, Delaware; Brent (Cindy) Randolph of Elkview, West Virginia; Gregg (Jessica) Randolph of Greenback, Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Timothy, Alex, Austin, Adam, Christian, Dawson, Izzy, Daelynn; and five great-grandchildren. Creed is also survived by four siblings: Joyce Jacobson, Tim Randolph, Barb Thompson, and Craig Randolph. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Linda; his grandparents, Furman and Hattie Anderson; parents, Stan and Ruth Randolph, and two brothers, David and Stan.

He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Mobay/Bayer in West Virginia and Middle Tennessee for over 30 years before retiring in 2001. He was an avid sports fan and was often seen (and heard) cheering for his favorite teams: Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, West Virginia Mountaineers, UNC Tarheels, and Cleveland Browns. As a NASCAR fan for decades, he had the opportunity to attend races at multiple tracks in person. But nothing compared to his love and involvement coaching and cheering for his sons and grandchildren in their sporting events. Creed spent many years coaching his three sons in baseball and basketball, and many years faithfully watching his grandchildren play baseball, football, basketball, soccer and tennis.

Please join the family for a celebration of Creed’s life at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service (Maryville, TN) on Wednesday, June 24 with the family receiving friends from 12:00-1:30. The celebration service will then take place at 1:30 followed by a short graveside service at Grandview Cemetery.
