Cleamon Johnson, Jr., age 87 of Friendsville, passed away early Wednesday, April 24, 2024. He passed in his sleep at the family home. He was a devout Christian all his life. Cleamon attended Fairpark Evangelist Church in Maryville, TN. He worked 34 years between K-25 and Y-12 in Oak Ridge before retiring in 1994. Farming was his life-long passion among his many roles of being a father, supervisor, grandfather, and husband; Cleamon enjoyed his time raising cattle and growing his gardens. He was always willing to share his wisdom and love of Jesus to anyone that asked him for advice. Whether it was a loved one or a complete stranger, Cleamon never hesitated to crack a witty joke or engage in a conversation. His love for the Lord and his family were monumentally profound through all of his actions. Cleamon was preceded in death by parents Cleamon, Sr. and Ilda Johnson and his son, Cleamon Brian Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Yvonne Johnson; daughters, Renee Bowerman, Rebekah Porter; grandsons, Cody Bowerman, Evan Porter; son-in-law, Jeff Bowerman; sister, Aurice Chapman; brother-in-law, Samuel Chapman; special nieces and nephews. A special “thank you” to all of the nurses from Clinch River Home Health, United Energy Workers Healthcare, University of Tennessee Hospice, and our special family and friend and caregiver, Christi Mueller. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Grandview Pavilion and Legacy Trail for the graveside service and entombment with Rev. Roger Hurst officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or Fairpark Evangelistic Church.
