Claude Ronald Perkins, lovingly known as “Ronnie,” passed away surrounded by the love of family on June 28, 2026. Ronnie will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kindness, devotion to family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
A hardworking man throughout his life, Ronnie dedicated many years to farming and running the family sawmill. He took pride in honest work and the values of perseverance, responsibility, and providing for his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clara Perkins; his cherished daughter, Lacey Annette Perkins; his parents, Ralph and Lillie Perkins; and his brothers, Gordon “Hobby” Perkins, Cecil “CF” Perkins, and Dennis “Denny” Perkins.
Ronnie leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure his memory, including his brothers, Thomas R. Perkins Sr. and Wayne (Denyse) Perkins; his sisters, Nellie Peak, Shirley Raines, Faye Hearon, and Darlene (Troy) Rudd; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Though he is no longer with us in body, Ronnie’s legacy of hard work, love, family, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

Family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Smith West Chapel. Funeral service will be at 5:00 PM with Tim Gardner officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 3, 2026 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Greenback.
