Clarence G. Young, age 89 of Maryville, passed away suddenly Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Young served in the Army in World War II. He retired from ALCOA after 42 years of service and was a member of their 25-Year Club. He was a faithful member of Grace Memorial Church in Maryville. Survivors include: Wife of 62 years, JoLena Miller Young; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Darrell & Sherry Young of Oneida, Steven & Elizabeth Young of Louisville, Granville & Lynne Young of Powell; Daughters, Dana Young of Oak Ridge and Jill Styles of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Jamie Daugherty of Manchester, Leslie Young of Knoxville, Ryan Young of Powell, and Alexandra Styles of Knoxville; Great-Grandchildren, Brady & Tanner Daugherty of Manchester; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Young is the last surviving child of John & Mary Young of Tellico Plains. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Ron Sunderland and Rev. Clifford Debety officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
