Rev. Clarence Evans

September 7, 1925 — January 13, 2007

Evans, Clarence Rev. age 81of Maryville passed away Saturday, January 13, 2007 at U.T. Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. Rev. Evans pastored at Miller's Cove, Vonore, Madison Avenue, Kagley's Chapel, and at Cold Springs for 17 years. Cold Springs sent him on Mission Trips to Ecuador 12 years. He taught Vocational Agriculture at Everett High School, one year at University of Tennessee, Vonore, Young and South Young, Knoxville. He also was a principal at Union and Mentor. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Ada Evans of Oklahoma; Three sisters, Louise Banks of Oklahoma, Ruth Rogan of Rogersville and Billie Henry of Arkansas; Seven brothers, Alton, James, and John of Texas, E J, Glen, Bob of Oklahoma, and Ray of Kansas; Grandson, John Cole Evans of Maryville. Rev. Evans is survived by wife Jean Evans of Maryville; Daughter and Son-in-law, Pat and Fred Reagan of Maryville; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Mike and Jean of Knoxville, Gary and Beth of Tallassee and Jim and Debby of Omaha Nebraska; Eight Grandchildren, Stephanie and Nathan Bryant, Tony Johnson, Annie and Stacy Evans all of Knoxville, Melissa Carrison and Jamie Evans of Nebraska, Karri Boring and Tammy Reagan of Maryville; Seven Great-grandchildren, Dakota and Cheyenne Bryant of Knoxville, Haley Johnson of Townsend, Jay Evans of Nebraska, Kelsey Boring, Jamar and Machayla Underwood of Maryville; Best friend Jesse Alston. A Celebration of Life service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Burnett and Rev. Jesse Alston officiating. Family and Friends will assemble for the interment at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Cold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Gideon Society, American Diabetes Association, or your favorite charity.
