Cromwell, Clarence Charles age 82 of Maryville passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He was a graduate of Townsend High School, Tennessee Wesleyn College, and attended Maryville College where he played football. He was a retired businessman as Owner of Cromwell Grocery in Townsend. Preceded in death by: Father, Claude Cromwell; Mother, Fannie Burchfield Cromwell; Sisters, Bernice Cromwell Webb and Mattie Cromwell English; Brother-in-law, Robert T. Webb Jr. Survivors include: Sister, Gloria Jean Cromwell of Maryville; Special Niece, Patsy Webb of Seattle, Washington; Two Grand Nieces, Jan & Beth Dubofsky of Eugene, Oregon and Seattle; Nephews, Tom English of Maryland and Tim English of Arizona; Brother-in-law, T.J. English of Maryville; Half Brother, James Cromwell of Maryville; Special friend, Lee Roberts of Sevierville. Honorary Pallbearers are Robbie Webb and Dale Whitaker. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 10, 2006 at Bethel Baptist Church in Townsend with Rev. Jewell McCollum officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Sunday, April 9, 2006, West Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
