Chetta G Ethridge

Chetta G. Ethridge, 69, of Maryville, TN passed away on October 6, 2024, at home with her daughter holding her hand. She went to be with her Heavenly Father while listening to her favorite song, Sweet Beulah Land. Chetta fought a three-year battle against kidney disease. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. 

Chetta was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling to St. Augustine, Florida. Chetta’s favorite thing to do was to watch her grandson, Trav, play football. After he scored a touchdown, he would look in the stands and smile at her. She told Trav to continue playing football, look in the stands and smile because she would always be with him. Chetta requested “Wind Beneath My Wings” to be sung at her service and dedicated to Trav, her hero.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Ethridge; parents Chester “Chet” and Reva Whitehead. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal M. Martin; grandson, Travis “Trav” Cozart II; sisters, Susan Loftus and Ginger (Ray) Boling; brother-in-law, Jim (Brenda) Ethridge; nieces, nephews and Leeson Russell.

Friends may drop by the funeral home to sign the register book and pay their respects on Friday, October 11, 2024 from 10:30 AM until 5:00 PM and on Monday, October 14, 2024 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Family and friends will assemble for a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM, Monday, October 14, 2024 at Grandview Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Rex Everett officiating.
