It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Charles (Charlie) Edwin Stephens on October 18, 2024 at the age of 86. Charlie was born on September 6, 1938 in Maryville, Tennessee to Kermit and Grace Stephens. Charlie graduated from Maryville High School in 1956 and went on to the University of Tennessee graduating in 1960. He began his professional career with Twin City Buick in Maryville in 1964 where he along with his partners grew the business to Twin City Dealerships with locations in Alcoa, Knoxville and Maryville today. He officially retired in 2023 but continued to play a vital role in the dealerships. Charlie met the love of his life and beloved wife Carleen (Hall) Stephens of 63 years. They lived a wonderful life together enjoying traveling and being with their grandsons. Charlie was an active and giving member of First Baptist Church of Maryville serving in numerous roles. He enjoyed golf, high school football and Tennessee athletics. He was involved in many activities during his life including United Way of Blount County and Mission of Hope. He was preceded in joining the Lord by his parents Kermit and Grace Stephens. Survived by Carleen Stephens his loving wife, son Chris Stephens and his wife Kristi, grandsons, Christopher and Harrison, brothers Dale Stephens and his wife Wanda, Don Stephens and his wife Donna, and his sisters Sherry Boring and Sharon Powell and her husband Gary. The graveside service will be held at Grandview Cemetery on October 24th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please make a donation to the Mission of Hope.
