Rev. Charles Ridner

August 8, 1929 — May 28, 2007

Reverend Charles Elmer Ridner age 77 of Alcoa, went to be with the Lord Monday, May 28, 2007 at his home. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. He retired from Levi Strauss. He served as Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Alcoa, TN then pastored for 11 years at Central Point Baptist Church in Rockford, TN. Preceded in death by: Wife, Evelyn Louise Ridner; Parents, Charles Clayton Ridner and Mary Ann Ridner; Brother, Bobby Gene Ridner. Survivors include: Sons and Daughters-in-law, Edward & Mary Parrott and Charles & Becky Ridner; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Brenda & Ellis Davis, Cathey Polnow, Debra & Don Davis, Traci & Jimmy Vandergriff; Grandchildren, Bridget McKenzie, Christy Sellers, Taylor Ridner, Hannah Ridner, Rick Wilson, Trever Davis, Chad Davis, Tia Ashton, Eli Polnow, Jason Thomas, Amber Arden & Ashelyn Vandergriff; Great-Grandchildren, Cale McKenzie, Cyndey Sellers, Jordan Wilson, Alex Wilson, Michael Ashton, Toby Polnow, Riley Arden. A special "thank you" is extended to John Flowers for his devotion, support and care. Also, special thanks to Pat & Carla at Blount Memorial Hospice Program and the entire care & support group for their constant care and support. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 PM, Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Central Point Baptist Church in Rockford with funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM with Rev. Chris Cupp officiating. Interment will be at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Grubb & Rev. Chris Cupp officiating.
