Carl Douglas Pounds II, Doug Pounds, passed away to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 2, 2026. 

He was a faithful husband, father, papaw, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He is preceded in death by his mother Thelma Christine Pickell Pounds. He is survived by his wife Teresa Gail Hubbard Pounds, children Emily and her husband Dan, Sara Beth and her husband Tim, Micah, Andrew, Jared and his wife Mollie, and Noah, by grandchildren Mya, Lucas, Ariella, David, Evelynn, Jack, and Stetson, his father Carl Douglas Pounds, sisters Charity and Hope and her husband Jimmy, and his brother Caleb and his wife Anna. He worked for William S. Trimble Securities and attended church at Calvary Community Church. He is known for his faith in Christ, silly dance moves, and making people laugh with his playful attitude. Doug was surrounded by family and friends who felt loved and safe with him. He loved his God, his wife, his family, and his church. He was a talented and faithful builder who enjoyed using his spare time to bless others by helping them however he could. 

Services will be held on August 7th at Smith’s Funeral Home in Maryville, Tennessee. The family asks that any memorial offerings be sent to Calvary Community Church for their building fund.
