Obituary

Bryan Carver Nuchols, age 57, of Maryville, born March 6, 1969, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026. Bryan was a man with a generous heart who would give without hesitation to anyone in need. He had a personal relationship with Christ and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior. He had a deep love for his family and held them close in his heart. He worked for over 30 years at Denso Manufacturing in the Maintenance Division. He had a deep love for the outdoors, and for years enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf — pastimes that brought him great joy. His love of hunting was rooted in cherished memories with his Papaw Carver, who first taught him the way of the woods. He had a special place in the lives of his stepchildren, stepping in as a father figure during their formative years and maintaining a connection with them throughout his life. He was a private man who lived simply and loved quietly. He is survived by his mother Jo Dean Nuchols and stepfather Ted Wilson, his sister Jodi Self and her husband Frank Self, his nephew Daniel Daws, his wife Angelina Daws, and their children Paul Daws and Jack Daws, step siblings, Teddi Sylvia and husband Ron, Phil Wilson and wife Sharra, Joel Wilson and wife Melinda. He was preceded in death by his father David Nuchols, his paternal uncle Eugene Nuchols and aunt Dora Nuchols, his brother Mike Nuchols, his paternal grandparents John Nuchols and Verna Nuchols, and his maternal grandparents Joe Carver and Nora Carver. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: Breakthrough T1D, Formerly JDRF, PO Box 5042 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5042. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026 at First Baptist Church Maryville. Receiving of friends begins at 10:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. Condolences may be shared at Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.SmithFuneralandCremation.com.
