Brenda Clay Smith

Brenda Clay Smith, 83, of Maryville passed away peacefully in her home on March 15, 2024. Brenda was born in Lebanon, TN on May 18, 1940. She graduated from Lebanon High School and Fall's Business School in Nashville. After graduation she went to work at Methodist Publishing House and later co-owned a Floral Shop with her good friend, Patsy. Brenda had a feisty and witty personality. Whenever she met someone she evoked smiles and laughter. She was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church.   Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Zane "Elmo" Smith; and parents, Charles and Louise Clay. Brenda is survived by sons, Kevin Coward and Randy Coward; stepsons, Zane Smith (Pam), Gary Smith, Brian Smith (Susan), Marcus Smith (Melanie); grandchildren, Amanda Stockman (Logan), Cory Coward, Erisha Abbott (Tyler), Ciarra Smith (Kyle), Cody Smith, Hope Smith Christina Davis (Michael), Scott Linginfelter (Neisha) and Dylan Stratton (Heather). Also survived by 18 great grandchildren.  A private graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
