Bobby Gene Pollard, age 86, of Friendsville, TN, passed away June 22, 2025. The second of four children born to James Woodrow and Mildred Marie (Treat) Pollard, Bob was born on January 29, 1939, in Ardmore, OK.
After high school, Bob enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served as a rifleman and small arms director in the 1st Marine Division, Camp Pendleton, CA from June 1957 until his honorable discharge in July 1959.
Bob was an active member of the Scottish Rite and the Masonic Lodge for 38 years. In 2013 he received the highest honor degree of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the 33rd Degree, and received his KCCH 2007. From the York Rite he received the highest honor, the Order of the Purple Cross from the Sovereign Grand College. As a Mason, Bob was past Master of Unita Lodge #295, Friendsville, TN, Past Master of George Washington Lodge #181, Louisville, TN, Honorary Member of New Providence Lodge #48, Maryville, TN, Member of the Valley of Knoxville Scottish Rite, and Member of Athens and Maryville York Rite bodies from which he received his KYCH. Bob was also a Kentucky Colonel and a Tennessee Colonel.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Mary Frances (Whitley) Lasley of Friendsville, TN, parents James & Marie (Treat) Pollard of Lenoir City, TN, brother James Ray Pollard of Payette County, ID, sister Charlotte Ann Scarbro of Maryville, TN, and daughter Brenda Jean Norraddine of Fairbanks, AK.
Left to mourn his passing are his brother Billy Joe & Nancy Pollard, Parker, CO, children Saundra & Steve Fitzgerald of Surprise, AZ, Cheryl & Jeff Jones of Chandler, AZ, Allan & Debbie Pollard of Flagstaff, AZ, Aaron Pollard of Tempe, AZ, and adopted daughter Heather & Mark Williams, Greensburg, IN.
Bob’s surviving grandchildren are Bryea McKinster, Collin Fitzgerald, Nicole Joes Rios, Ryan Jones, Tyler Scott Pollard, Austin Allan Pollard, Kylie Ann Adams, Shane James Pollard, Josh Robert Pollard, Cheyenne Ashton Pollard, Scottali Ahmad Noureddine, Allynnfotima Ahmad Evans, Autumn Day Gore, and 22 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by step-daughters Lisa (Lasley) & Ken Montgomery of Beach Haven, NJ, Anne (Lasley Williams) & Michael Appelman of Knoxville, TN, and step-grandchildren Grey Clevenger, Chris Williams, Emmie Seals, Jonathan Williams, and 9 step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, July 9th at 12:30pm at the Smith Trinity Chapel, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN, with a Masonic Service to follow at 2:00. Burial service is at 3:00 in the Grandview Mausoleum Chapel, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN.
