Bobby Myers McCampbell born June 14, 1943 passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026. He was a 30+ year retiree of Alcoa, nicknamed “Hopsing”, and a member of United Steel Workers Local 309. He enjoyed Nascar racing and Tennessee football. He was a member of the Alcoa Betrayed Retirees group. Bobby loved taking part in all the good things the group does like shoe boxes for soldiers and buying food to help stock food pantries in Greenback and Maryville. Preceded in death by: parents, William Martin and Lillie Myers McCampbell; great-granddaughter, Cecilia Carter; sister-in-law, Janice McCampbell; brothers-in-law, Roy & Johnny Gibson. Survivors include: wife, Benita Gibson McCampbell; brother, Tommy McCampbell; sons, Danny (Chanda) McCampbell, Keith (Mechelle) McCampbell; sisters & brother-in-law, Rosie (Bill) Potter and Bonnie (Alfred) Cecere; stepson, Allen Tarwater and daughter Autum; grandchildren, DaChanna (Nathan) Carter, Caitlyn McCampbell, Lillie (Jake) Leach, Taylor (Maura) McCampbell, and Isaac Jozwiak; great-grandchildren, Cheryl & Charlotte Carter and Nora & Walt Leach; nephews, George and Glen McCampbell; special niece, Chelsey Hall (Jerry) and their children, Andrew & Eli. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bobby McCampbell, Alcoa Betrayed Retires to: Shoe Box for Soldiers, Charles Curtis, 2959 West Hills Drive, Maryville, TN 37803. To honor Bob’s request there will be a private graveside service at Tuckaleechee United Methodist Church Cemetery in Townsend.
