Bob G. Goin

February 2, 1945 — January 12, 2024

Maryville

Bobby (Bob) Gene Goin, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the age of 78.  Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, friend, and devoted follower of Jesus.  Bob is preceded in death by his father, Bruce and mother, Elsie.  He is survived by his wife Amy, his 3 children (Wes Goin, Brittany Hepperly, & Carlie Hickey), their spouses (Jessica Goin, Hank Hepperly, and Logan Hickey), his grandchildren, and great- grandson. Bob had such an infectious smile and sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.  He was a source of strength to the people he loved, and so many have been impacted by his kindness and generosity.

Bob’s life is also a picture of God’s favor and grace.  He was a man with humble beginnings, yet defied all odds; however, he never forgot where he came from.  He was an incredible artist who loved to draw and paint.  Many churches still display his artwork above their baptistries.  Bob was also the founder of Chroma Graphics, an automotive decal company that began during the early 70’s in his basement and later became an international success, still in operation today.  After selling his business in the 90’s, he went on to invent a motorcycle passenger seat he called the “Butty Buddy,” which was also a success and allowed him and his wife Amy to travel the US doing what they loved, riding their Harley’s.

Bob lived a rich life full of love, laughter, adventure and accomplishment, but the greatest legacy he leaves behind is his devotion to Jesus and his compassionate displays of God’s love to everyone he came in contact with.  He has poured into so many people’s lives teaching them the gospel of Jesus and being a Godly example for all to follow.  Bob’s life can undoubtedly be described in Psalms 112, “Those who are righteous will be long remembered.  They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them… They share freely and give generously to those in need.  Their good deeds will be remembered forever.  They will have influence and honor.”

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 5PM-6:30PM at RIO Central (370 S. Long Hollow Road; Maryville, TN 37801).   A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:30PM with Pastor Ronnie Hepperly officiating.

Bob was a faithful and active member of Restoration International Outreach.  He loved his church and believed in the work this ministry was doing for the Lord.  Therefore,  in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to RIO Ministries in Bob’s honor as every donation will be used for a mission endeavor that was close to Bob’s heart. (riomissions.org; PO Box 887 ; Alcoa, TN 37701, memo: Bob).
