Birda Ruth Teffeteller

Birda Ruth Ramsey Teffeteller, 87, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 at Asbury Health Care Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville and a member of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her husband T.J. Teffeteller, parents Archilles and Lillian Rice Ramsey, sisters Edna Cody, Audrey Vandeventer, Mary Ratledge, Emma Hackney and brothers Wayne Ramsey and Ploran Ramsey. She is survived by sons David of Ellijay, Georgia and his wife Joanne Waddey; and Don Teffeteller and his wife Julie of Maryville, Tennessee; and grandson Aaron Teffeteller of Gate City, Virginia. She is also survived by former daughter-in-law Cynthia Osborne and granddaughter-in-law Angela Owenby, several nieces and nephews, their children, and many dear friends. Birda was born November 16, 1919 in Hancock County, Tennessee and moved to Maryville with her sister, Mary, to work at ALCOA during WWII. In 1946, she married T.J.
