Beverly Kay McDonald Becker, 66, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Beverly was born November 5, 1959 in Maryville, Tennessee to Frank and Mary Ann McDonald. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1981, Beverly relocated to Stafford County, Virginia where she raised three children. In April of 2024 she relocated to Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and resided with her life partner until her passing.

Beverly was a wonderful mama and grandma who loved life and enjoyed many hobbies and activities over the years. Hiking, horseback riding, Country & Western line dancing, fishing, shooting sports, her cherished Smoky Mountains, running video cameras at high school football games, and cheering on her beloved Tennessee Volunteers were just a few of her favorites. Beverly was an avid Star Trek, Star Wars, and Gunsmoke fan.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Mary Ann McDonald; her life partner, Montgomery Walker; her children, Mary Lawler (Austin), Joshua Becker (Tiffany), and Miranda Payne (Bryant); and aunts, Jimmie Miller and Emma Grace Anderson. Beverly was blessed with four granddaughters, Isabell Becker, Haidyn Huntt, Evora Becker, and Evelyn Becker; and four grandsons, Elijah Lawler, James Lawler, Zachary Lawler, and Malakai Lawler.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Frank McDonald; and grandparents, William and Martha Huggins and Herbert and Grace McDonald.

Beverly’s life will be celebrated in Virginia and Tennessee and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Beverly’s family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Smith Funeral & Cremation, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803, where the funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow in Grandview Cemetery, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803.
