Beulah Lawler Hash

October 22, 1911 — April 30, 2006

Hash, Beulah Lawler age 94 of Morningview Village in Maryville, TN, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She previously resided in Charleston and Morgantown, West Virginia. Beulah was a graduate of West Virginia University School of Journalism, and a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She had served as the Society Editor for the Morgantown Dominion Post newspaper. She was a candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates and State Senate. She was also a past President of the West Virginia Garden Club and a Lifeline Volunteer. She was awarded the Pearly Isaac Reed award for lifetime achievement in journalism. She was a member of West Hills Baptist Church, Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Dr. John W. Hash and two brothers. Survivors include her son, Richard D. Hash of Maryville; son & daughter-in-law, John L. & Susan Hash of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Richard D. Hash, Jr. & wife, Tammy, Thomas W. Hash & wife, Karen, Julia Ann Spivey & husband, Brian, Jennifer Lynn Spaulding & husband, Reid, John L. Hash & wife, Sonie, Elizabeth Lopina & husband Andrew; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Eric, Emily, Robert, Taylor, Josie, Lilli, Drew, Truman, Clara, Nicholas & Sarah. Private funeral services will be held at Smith Mortuary and interment at Grandview Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Beulah Hash to the Low Vision Center Gift Fund, 1124 E.
