Betty Jo Powell

Betty Jo (Crabtree) Powell age 75 of Madisonville, passed away, Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Woods Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church and spent much of her life caring for the elderly and sick. Betty loved cooking and needlework. Preceded in death by: Parents, J. Monroe & Ruth Crabtree; Sister, Bessie (Crabtree) Gouge; Brothers, Doris (EW) Crabtree, Harvey Crabtree, and J. Monroe Crabtree Jr. Survivors include: Nieces, Vickie Pettitt of Knoxville and Ginger Zerrup of Loudon; Nephews, Harrison Crabtree of Knoxville, Howard Crabtree of Loudon, and Jimmy Joe Crabtree; Friends, Margie Cagle & Janice Teffeteller; and a host of other friends in the area. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. George Macht officiating. Interment will follow at Piney Level Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
