Ava Gail Deloach of Maryville, Tenn., entered eternal rest on February 5, 2026 at age 84.

Gail, as she was known to her friends and loved ones, was born December 21, 1941 in Jerusalem, Ark., the daughter of Edgar D. and Alma C. Massey, who preceded her in death.

Gail was an avid reader, country music fan, and hearty cook who loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending her time with them. A wonderfully affectionate grandmother, Nanny’s door and arms were always open. To know her was to be well-hugged and well-fed—no one left her home without a treat and a reminder of how much they were loved.

She was proceeded in death by 5 brothers: Gentry, John, Hilliard (Bill), Lawton and Garner Massey; and 2 sisters: Julia Massey-Krutsinger and Willadean Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Glynis Tilley (Lee) of Maryville; son, Thomas E. Deloach (Raquel) of Morgantown, W. Va.; twin brother, Dale Massey (Ann) of Greeneville, Tenn.; 3 grandchildren, Lindsey West (Trevor) and Aleisha Asbury (Brock) both of Maryville, and Thomas A. Deloach of Morgantown, W. Va.; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private service.
