Aubrey G. Phelps

Phelps, Aubrey G. age 83 passed away peacefully at his home at 9:38 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008. He was an active member and faithful Christian attending Dotson Memorial Baptist Church for 55 years. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. He was a member of Unitia Masonic Lodge, an avid golfer with 17 holes in one. Aubrey retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Earl and Katherine Love Phelps; sisters, Jewel Clemmens, Louise Hord, Mary Borden and Helen Williams; granddaughter, Amy Rebecca Phelps. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Lee "Jackie" Houston Phelps; son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Barbara Phelps; daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Gary Randolph; grandchildren, Alicia Phelps, Michael and Candie Randolph, Zach & Mandy Breeding, Calvin & Misty Blevins; great-grandchildren, Taylor & Seth Breeding, Mackenzie Blevins & Malia Randolph; brother, Richard Quinn Phelps; Sister, Jean Turner; special friend, Jerry Blevins. A special thank you to his loving caregivers, Rosemary, Frankie, Bobbie, Don Franklin, Donnie Phelps, Dale Bailey, & Blount Memorial Hospice and Personal Care Services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Dale Ellenberg, Dr. Charles Sullivan, Dr. Charles Bailey & Rev. Gene Gann officiating. Family & friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Dotson Memorial Church Cemetery for the interment.
