Alvin Carr Blake age 91 of Alcoa passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps, 42nd Squadron, 11th Bomb Group, 7th Air Force Battle Stars for Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years at First Baptist Church of Maryville. He worked at USAID at Bangalore, India from 1969 �" 1971, TN Farm Bureau, and retired from the University of Tennessee College of Agriculture Extension Service. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Witt Blake; son, Thomas Alvin Blake; sister, Bo Miles of Pine Orchard, TN; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard and Dr. John Sharp officiating. Entombment will follow.
