Allen J. Hochstein, 87, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in July 2025.
Born in 1938, Allen dedicated his life to both his family and his country. After serving 4 years in the US Air Force, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 37 years, where he supervised the installation of radar systems at airports across the country—contributing to the safety and modernization of air travel throughout his career.
For the past 30 years, Allen lived in Maryville, TN, with his beloved wife, Marie Allene Hochstein. Prior to that, he made his home in Virginia, where he and Allene raised their two sons, Coby and Jason.
Allen had a deep appreciation for classic cars and proudly owned three Corvettes during his lifetime. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, an avid reader of science fiction, and a passionate collector of vintage radios. His Catholic faith was extremely important to him and his personal commitment to God was a driving force in his life.
He will be remembered for his sharp mind, good humor, and the love he shared with those around him.
Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marie Allene, Allen is survived by sons Coby Hochstein (wife Aksana Bykava) and Jason Hochstein (wife Kristin). He is also survived by nieces Lori Borst and Debbie LeClair of Randolf, Nebraska.
The family would like to thank all those who assisted in caring for him at Blount Memorial Hospital, Blount Memorial's physician group, Foothills Rehabilitation, Asbury Place Assisted Living, and Life Care of Blount County.
A memorial service to celebrate Allen’s life was held at Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel on July 26, 2025. Family and friends joined to honor his memory.
