William Francis Smith

William Francis Smith, age 96 of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, April 04, 2018 at the family home. He served in the US Navy from September 1942 to March 1946 as a cryptographer for the Atlantic Fleet. He was a trusted mechanic at McNutt Motor Company and Rice Motor Company prior to his retirement. He was a 70 year member of the Masons and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by: Loving Wife of 69 years, Mildred; Parents, Annie & Hobert Smith; Son-in-law, Verlin Tucker; Brothers-in-law, John Melvin Jordan and Joe Rorex. He is survived by: Children, Robert (Debbie) Smith of Louisville and Jean Tucker of Cleveland, TN; Sisters, Myrtle Rorex of Louisville and Hazel Jordan of New Martinsville, WV; Devoted Caretaker, Kathy Harness; Grandsons, Brian (Sherrie) Tucker, Kevin (Becky) Tucker, Adam (Stacy) Smith, Daniel Smith, David (Shannon) Tucker, and Joseph Smith; 10 Great-Grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. David Tucker and Rev. Curt McKee officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Louisville Cemetery. His Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
