William "John" Gibson

William “John” Gibson, 56, went home to be with his Savior on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Gibson. A Bristol native, John graduated from the University in Tennessee in 1986 with a degree in education, devoting the rest of his life to loving and guiding the students of Pigeon Forge Primary School. Outside of the classroom, John’s kind spirit, playful banter and genuine love of people made him a cherished father and friend. John is survived by his daughter, Hannah Rose Gibson; mother, Wanda Cox Gibson; his sister, Lesa Gibson Wilson; his sister and brother-in-law, Mark and Amanda (Gibson) Stewart and two nieces, Lynsey Wilson and Adeline Stewart. The family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Smith Trinity Chapel in Maryville, Tenn. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with interment immediately following at Grandview Cemetery.
