Wanda Kathleen Coatney

Wanda Kathleen Coatney, age 88, of Alcoa, TN passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Asbury Place Maryville. She was born March 18, 1931 to the late Dewey and Zella Carnes. Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Coatney; her parents, Dewey and Zella Carnes; her son, Steve Coatney; her daughter-in-law, Linda Coatney. She is survived by her sister, Edith Walker (Ed); her son, Tommy Coatney; grandchildren, Mandy Parkerson (Paul), Tiffany Labout, Derek Coatney (Danielle), Ashley Coatney; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Stephen, Bentley Labout, Colin, Clay Coatney, Tyleigh Powers, Lydia, Claire and Ross Parkerson. Wanda was a member of Alcoa First Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She worked at Blount Memorial Hospital as a nurse and retired after 40 years, then worked another 10 years after that. She was an avid Tennessee Vols and Alcoa Tornado fan. She loved her family and friends and touched many lives on this earth. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5:30PM until 7:00PM with a funeral service to begin at 7:00PM officiated by Rocky Hodge. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Clarks Grove Cemetery in Maryville, TN for an interment service.
