Virginia Kirby Strang

Virginia Kirby Strang, age 96, of Alcoa, died peacefully in her home Monday morning Nov 6, 2017. She joins her parents, her husband Bob Strang, her sister Nancy Kirby Waddell, her brother Bob Kirby, her son in law Harry Bibee, and nephew Bob Waddell in eternal rest. Virginia was born February 13, 1921 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. She was raised in Cleveland, Tennessee and graduated from Bradley Central High School. She was married to Bob Strang and located to Alcoa in 1946. They were members of the Alcoa First United Methodist Church. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Martha Bibee and nephews Jim Waddell, Joe Waddell and Bill Waddell. Virginia enjoyed family, being around people, church activities, crocheting and the mountains. Family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM, Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Alcoa First United Methodist Church. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Ty Harrison and Mark Grubb officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be sent to the Alcoa First United Methodist Church, 617 Gilbert St, Alcoa, TN 37701.
