Tommie Crabtree Welch , age 89, went to her Heavenly Father on October 21, 2017. She was the last remaining Charter member of Hillview Baptist where she was very active and taught Sunday school for over 60 years. She so loved the WMU ladies and their activities. She retired from many years as school cafeteria worker and manager. Proceeded in death by her parents Archie & Mae Crabtree, Husband of 49 years Orion Welch, and son-in-law Ken Byrd, Jr. Brothers Paul Crabtree, Clint Crabtree, Charles Crabtree, William Crabtree, David Crabtree and Coie Crabtree. Sisters Thelma Gaut, Minnie Bailey and Ruth Medlin and close friend Shirley Gideon. Survivors include: Son & daughter-in-law Glenn & Linda Welch of Maryville, Christine Byrd of Tiger, GA, grandchildren Micah & Nikki Welch of Alcoa, Jenny & Anthony Morgan of Maryville, Kameren & Joshua Todd of Griffin, GA and Kolby & Meredith Byrd of Clayton, GA. Great grandchildren.: Cade, Cole & Connor Welch, Caleb & Lydia Morgan, Parker & Addison Todd, Bode & Sollee Byrd. Sister-in-law Wilva Newman of Maryville. Several nieces and nephews, brother Kenneth Crabtree, special friends Teresa Sandlin, Irene Green and many more beloved friends. Special thanks to the staff at Morningview Transitional Care for their loving compassion during her time there. John Whitehead officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the Interment with Rev. Anthony Morgan officiating.
