Mary E. Mason

Mary Ellen (Jobe) Mason, 71, passed away December 3, 2019 at her home in Maryville, TN. December 3rd, coincidentally was also the birth date of her late husband, John Waverly Mason. Mary was born on February 15, 1948 in Thorpe, WV to Marion Monroe Jobe and Beaulah Mae (Rose) Jobe. She graduated from Gloucester High School in June of 1966. She married John Waverly Mason on April 18, 1980 in Newport News, VA. Mary was a born artist and created a world around the projects she wanted to pursue (drawing, watercolors, quilting, web design and more). She was a strong woman with a kind heart. She loved her Scottie dogs, her cat Kat, hummingbirds, the TV series BONES, family history, photos, working puzzles and spending time with family & close friends. She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Darlene (Jobe) Steffy, her four nieces, Cherrill Lyn Cohen, Stanton Rachel Cohen, Faith Ann (Smith) Crews, Lora Lee (Smith) Quesenberry and her nephew, John Monroe Jobe. There will not be a service at this time. Her wishes were to be cremated and to have her ashes spread with Waverly’s (Katie and Maccie’s too).
