Kenneth Reed Duggan

January 13, 1934 — March 6, 2018

Kenneth Reed Duggan, 84, of Maryville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior March 6, 2018. Kenneth was a 1952 graduate of Lanier High School, and he spent his career as a butcher. He cherished his work relationships with Charles Danner, Sam Fine, Bill Gibson, Al Harmon, Pop Forster, Benny Lane, Jack Smelcer and so many others. He was a good father who taught his children the value of work and a job well done, honesty, love for others, and faith in God. A member of Shelter Church where his grandson Jeremy Lane served as his pastor, he enjoyed church and teaching Sunday School, which he did for many years at various churches, and he considered teaching a blessing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Emma Huskey Duggan; his wives, Earlene Baumgardner Duggan and Frances Cook Duggan; his grandsons, Timothy and Travis Lane; and his sister, Bernice Duggan Acuff. He is survived by his children, Kathy Lane (Gene), David R. Duggan (Kari), and Phillip M. Duggan (Teresa); 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Blanche Crowson and Carolyn McCarter; brother, Dwain Duggan (Louise); sisters-in-law Helen Joy Myers, Wilma Buckner and Connie Dyell; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., grandsons Rev. Jeremy Lane and Justin Lane officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Carpenter’s Campground Cemetery, 3530 Best Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
