Joanna Adora Ledford

January 11, 1963 — April 29, 2021

Joanna Adora Ledford was welcomed into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 29, 2021, surrounded by family. Joanna was born on January 11, 1963 in Berlin, Germany. She was the adopted daughter of Edd Brown, Jr. & Nellie Brown. Central to her life was her faith and commitment to Christ, His Word, and His Church. As a member of East Maryville Baptist Church, Joanna was a dedicated servant to the church and the Blount County community. She was a woman of friendship, hospitality, and encouragement. Joanna served in several ministries throughout the church. Her greatest and most fulfilling ministry was serving as Client Services Coordinator and proclaiming the Name of Jesus Christ at the Chilhowee Baptist Center to the needy and homeless. Most of Joanna’s accomplishments were not in the public eye. But her kindness, generosity, gentleness and selflessness will have an impact on her friends and family for generations to come. Her greatest joy is knowing her Heavenly Father and the promise of Heaven. Her faith is now her sight and she is surely now doing what she was created to do, eternally worshiping her King. Joanna treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and friends. Joanna leaves behind her beloved husband David, blessed with 41 years of marriage. They were inseparable in life, and now only by death, leaving an eternal impact that will be cherished by their children, Jennifer (David) Cunningham, Jason (Danielle) Ledford. Joanna was lovingly known as “Noni” by her 7 grandchildren. Kaitlyn Cunningham, Carson Cunningham, Mia Cunningham, Brody Ledford, Addison Ledford, Baker Ledford, & Kaia Ledford. She is also survived by her birth mother Karola Arguwal, sister Tamara Staton & brothers Lee Staton Jr. of North Carolina and Jose Manuel Blasco Peter of Spain. Family will receive friends at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 2, 2021 at East Maryville Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Pregnancy Resource Center, a ministry that Joanna loved and supported. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
