Jimmie Lee Everett, age 92, stepped into glory September 21, 2019. He was born March 26, 1927 and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Rebecca Everett; brothers Richard Jr., Lawrence and Ellis Everett, and sisters Lucille Carroll, Pauline Tipton, Marie Long and Merle Millsaps. He is survived by the love of his life, Dorothy Smith Everett. They celebrated 72 years of marriage July 25th. As a couple, their legacy is one of faithful service to their Heavenly Father. Jim and Dorothy’s marriage was a precious image of true love, sacrifice, and devotion to family. God also blessed “Jimmie Lee from Tennessee,” as he often referred to himself, with the amazing and treasured gift of humor as well as the ability to make everyone around him laugh with his many stories. Jim also leaves behind his three children and their spouses: Priscilla and Larry Dailey; Larry and Linda Everett; and Debbie and Mark Stinnett. He also leaves his eight grandchildren: Bryan (Tracey) Dailey; Becky (Rick) Lindley; Carrie (Kevin) Craig; Leah (Jayson) Hines; Neal Everett; Travis (Sarah) Stinnett; Jenny (Travis) Rimmer; Jill (Caleb) Hazelbaker; and his great-grandchildren: Jake (Kathryn) Dailey; Katey and Anna Dailey; Jackson, Julianna, Judson, and Jameson Lindley; Carrington and Gavin Craig; Bryson, Carson, and Lillian Hines; Harper and Reagan Stinnett; Tyler and Callan Rimmer; Evie, Henry, and Abbie Hazelbaker. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 24th, from 5pm – 7pm at the Smith’s Trinity Chapel. The funeral will follow at 7 pm with the Reverend Keith Johnson officiating. The Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 pm at East Maryville Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Missions Ministry of East Maryville Baptist Church.
