Jessica Bethany Jones

January 13, 1984 — October 17, 2018

Jessica Bethany Jones passed away suddenly & unexpectedly on October 17, 2018. Jessica was a graduate of Maryville High School and Pellissippi State. She was one of the sweetest & kindest souls you would ever meet. She would greet you with a smile and a hug every time she saw you. She was born with a rare spinal disease that caused her to have 3 huge spine surgeries & a 4th surgery was getting ready to happen when her heart decided her body couldn't take anymore and stopped. Jessica endured an adult life of severe pain but she is in pain no more. Jessica was the Bravest & Strongest Woman on this earth. She was a Rock Star with all the pain she had to endure in a short lifetime. She loved and adored her mom Debra who stood by her side every day of her life. She always said her Papaw Whaley and her Stepdad Bill would walk her down the aisle when she got married....She is now walking down the aisle to the pearly gates of Heaven. Jessica loved Movies, The Beach and The Backstreet Boys! She was so smart that she could recite entire movie scripts and actually wrote a movie script of her own when she was 16. As a teenager, Her and her friend Megan Keller Brown won Front Row Tickets to see Backstreet Boys...Last year, she was thrilled to travel to Las Vegas with her mom, her sisters, and Aunt Nancy to sit in the front row to see the Backstreet Boys again and was able to touch each one of their hands. Jessica was accepting of everyone no matter where they came from or their past. She never held a grudge and she always accepted and loved people no matter who they were or where they came from. This is a legacy from sweet Jessica that we should all learn and live by. Preceded in Death by: Father: Robert A. Jones & Grandmother: Betty Jones. Survived by her loving family: Parents: William & Debra McLain (who were her cheerleaders & lifelines), Grandparents: Earl & Barbara Whaley (who checked on her daily & Papaw Whaley will miss all the talks they had during their walks), Sisters: Kimberly Jones Effler (Charlie), Katherine Jones Kroll (Tom), Sherry Jones Paul (Keith) & Stephanie Wasserman (David), Brother: Matthew Robert Jones (Melody), Nieces and Nephews (who she adored): Luke Headrick, Emma Foutch, Mallory Kroll, Haley Paul (The daughter she never got to have), Landon Paul, TJ Jones, Daniel & Benjamin Wasserman, Loving Aunts: Nancy Whaley Haire (Uncle Chris)-Nancy was like a 2nd Mom to her, & Beverly Whaley, Uncle: Earl Whaley Jr (Veronica), Several cousins, great friends and her Dog Sadie who was a great companion to Jessica and Sadie will forever miss her. In lieu of flowers, Jessica would want you to hug your family & spend time with them as she loved her family more than anything in this world. Any Donations to be made to The Maryville Kiwanis Foundation for their Imagination Library Program in memory of Jessica Jones. Jessica loved to read and was so grateful to see a program that would send a free book to her nieces and nephews from the time they were born.
