James Reneau

James Reneau, age 81 of Maryville, TN, went to be with the Lord. He was born in Dandridge, TN, on July17, 1937. James loved every kind of sports, especially UT sports! At Porter, he played football and basketball. He helped coach Rockford midget football. His employment career included: share cropping with the family, Bush Canning, Pay Cash, Gulf Life Insurance, Security Life of Georgia (named salesman of the year- won a cruise), White Stores Warehouse, and Food City in Seymour. James proudly served in the Army. In the Tennessee Army National Guard, he became Sergeant First Class- Section Chief Artillery- Howitzer Battery 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Served a total of 26 years. Transferred to the U.S. Army Retired Reserve on November 1, 1992 as an E-7. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. James was a devoted Christian and a member of the Meadow Church of God. James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Sally Chrisman Reneau; his sisters, Sarah Walker, Georgia Heath, Juanita Chesteen, Judy French; and his brothers, Curtis Reneau, Bill Reneau, Charles Reneau, and Ed Reneau. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Reneau; his five children, Lindsey Reneau, Denise (Charlie) Brown, Tim (Tina) Reneau, Chris (Rhonda) Reneau, and Rick (Lora) Reneau; seven grandchildren; Adrian Hawkins, Christian (Jeff) Primm, Gabriel (Alexys) Reneau, Katie Reneau, Mitch Reneau, Hollie Reneau, and step grandson, Isaac Camp; 2 great-grandchildren, Arabelle Reneau and Alexis Reneau; his brother, George Reneau; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. The receiving of friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, July 23, 2018 in the Smith Trinity Chapel. The funeral will immediately follow. Officiated by: Pastor Chris Reneau and Pastor Pacer Hepperly. The family and friends will assemble at Grandview Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 for the interment.
