Helen Peterson McCammon “For I have learned and whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” Phil 4:11 Helen Irene Mull Peterson McCammon died peacefully on Monday, December 16, at the age of 103. Helen was born November 25, 1916 in Etowah, Tn. Helen’s life was a blessing to all her family. She was the oldest living member of Everett Hills Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart and Nell (Bevins) Mull; infant son; sister, Ruth Elaine Mull Murphy; brothers, James Robert “Bob” Mull, Hoyt Fred Mull, Vernon Lee Mull; grandchildren, John Frank, Donna Frank Payne; her husbands, Raymond Peterson and Victor McCammon. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Peterson Holbert (Don); great-grandchildren, Kristain and Jacob Frank; special niece, Frances Hodge; special cousin, Francis Bevins; stepchildren, Victor “Vic” McCammon, Rev Gary McCammon (Penny), Geraldine “Gerry” McCammon Frazier (DD); ten step-grandchildren and spouses; 17 step great-grandchildren (one named Helen McCammon in her honor); one step great-great grandchild and another due in February. The family wishes to thank the staff of both Brookdale Browns Creek Assisted Living and Fair Park Nursing for the loving care given to Helen while she was a resident. The family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, December 21, from 12:00 until 1:00 PM. The funeral service will follow immediately, conducted by her stepson, Rev Gary McCammon and Rev Doug Hayes assisting. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 3176 Alcoa Hwy, Alcoa, TN.
