Douglas Richard Hardwick

Douglas Richard Hardwick, age 67, died on December 12, 2018 at home with his family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Virginia; daughters, Callie and Grace; sisters, Jayne and Lauren; and 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Allie; and his oldest sister, Ellen. Doug retired in 2017 after 35 years with Anderson Lumber Company. One of his favorite activities was traveling around the world with his family. He was actively involved with his church, First United Methodist Maryville, and its service mission group, woodturning, gardening, hiking, photography, and more recently learned to play the piano and built a cedar strip canoe. Doug was also a lifetime member of Blount County’s Beekeepers Association. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at First United Methodist Church Maryville, immediately followed by a receiving of friends until 3:00 PM.
